A repeat

The Sault Ste. Marie Steelers have repeated as Northern Football Conference Champions. The Steelers downed the Tri City Outlaws 35-4 to earn their 3 title in the last 4 years and sixth over all. Steelers held a 9-4 edge at the half but scored 26 unanswered points to seal the win. Game MVPs were League scoring and rushing leader Josh Gauthier who amassed 206 yards on 17 carries with 4 touchdowns. Linebacker Adam Ross earned the honour on the defensive side of the ball with 9.5 tackles, 2 hurries and 2 tackles for losses. For Gauthier, this is his third Championship MVP and Ross' first.

The Steelers have now earned the right to represent the N.F.C. at the Canadian Major Football Leauge final in Red Deer, Alberta on September 25th against a yet to be determined opponent.
