National Title Game this Week
The stage is set for the 9th Canadian Major Football League final this coming Saturday, September 19th in Sault Ste. Marie.
This will be a rematch of the 2007 final as the Edmonton Stallions make the trek east to renew acquaintances with the Sault Ste. Marie Steelers. The Sault spotted the Stallions an early 3-0 lead and scored 24 unanswered points enroute to their first National crown by a decisive 59-10 score in Oshawa.
The two teams qualified to meet for the second time in three years as the Steelers downed the Tri City Outlaws 31-16 on August 22nd and the Stallions upended the defending Alberta and National Champion Calgary Wolfpack 39-32 on August 30th.
Reports indicate that there should be a big crowd at Rocky DiPietro Field this coming Saturday with a 7:00 p.m. kick off. There will be live streaming of the game at the following:
Best of luck to the Steelers as they look to bring the Sid Forester Memorial Trophy back to Ontario.
